Just a year ago, when Smt. Elizabeth Antony, wife of Hon’ble Raksha Mantri  Shri A K Antony, ceremoniously launched the state of the art 105 mtr Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel INS Sumedha designed in house and built by GSL for the Indian Navy, its stately beauty and majestic visage inspired her to capture the memory on a canvas painting.

It was a moment of pride for GSL when this painting titled “ The Dawn ” was formally presented by RAdm. B S Parhar, NM ,Flag Officer Commanding Goa Area and Flag Officer Naval Aviation on Smt. Elizabeth Antony’s behalf to RAdm (Retd) Vineet Bakhshi VSM CMD GSL on 30 August 2012 to commemorate the first anniversary of the launching of the NOPV.

It may be recalled that  INS Sumedha is the third in the series of four NOPVs designed and built by GSL for the Indian Navy.
